Bettie's Restaurant - Jersey City, NJ
Bettie’s Restaurant got its start as a successful catering company in the Dominican Republic, operating for many years. Bettie’s son, Benel, carried on the tradition, first as a line cook under his mother’s tutelage, and eventually taking over as Head Chef of the restaurant as it is known today.
Menu & Decor
The menu is a mix of traditional Haitian, Caribbean, and Latin cuisine, a celebration of Bettie’s favorite dishes, passed down for all to enjoy. For Haitian style dining, the Haitian Grits with shrimp and avocado is a popular choice. A Caribbean favorite, the Beef Plantain Burger is sure to be a hit. For drinks, try their famous mimosa.
The décor is decidedly upscale island and rustic, with the vibrant flowers on the tables, the cane chairs, and the distressed concrete on the walls. The floor, reminiscent of a beach cabin, features what looks like a sand-scuffed finish with its distressed painted appeal. On the walls hang tasteful traditional Caribbean paintings, further adding to the theme.
Synergy and Tropical Design
The synergy of the furniture is evident in the way each piece compliments the other as well as the overall décor. Note how the mud-colored concrete walls blend well with the yellow of the booths and the backs of the cane wood chairs. Colors one wouldn’t imaging pairing with each other somehow coalesce to complete the restaurant’s ambience.
Our Venice Cane Metal Chairs embody the tropical vibe, with their attractive woven cane-back design. Crafted with a fully welded metal frame, these chairs may look delicate in their build, but in truth are durable and long lasting. Offered in a choice of padded vinyl or fabric seat in an array of color options, they are a fit in a range of venues. Wood back finishes are available in black or natural, adding to their diversity.
Our Button Tufted Back Booths blend well with the chairs, offering matching color to enhance the space. These booths are made in the United States from locally sourced materials, ensuring high-quality and strength. These classic booths come in a range of heights, lengths, and shapes, customizable for any venue. Upholstery can be mixed and matched on the seat and back. Shown here in camel vinyl upholstery, these booths add a high-class touch to any environment.
Solid Wood Table Top
Pairing well with the glassware, floral arrangements, and cloth napkins, our Premium Solid Wood Table Top offers a traditional touch, shown here in a muted black finish. Made in America with responsibly harvested wood, this top comes in a range of finishes, effortlessly blending in a range of venues. The finish can be tailored to match or contrast the furniture, depending on the needs and desires of each individual commercial space.
Accompanying the table tops is our Cast Iron X-Prong Table Base . Constructed from 18-gauge, tubular cast iron with a rugged black powder coat, this base is indestructible. It features non-marring glides for surface protection and stability on uneven floors. All hardware for installation is included. Offered in a variety of base sizes, it will fit with most all of our table tops.
At the Bar
Keeping in the island theme, the bar at Bettie’s reminds one of a tropical resort, with the wood paneled walls and stone-look laminate countertop. The blend of materials used, from the floor up, makes it easy to imagine sitting at this bar with a fruity drink while enjoying reggae music, with the surf lapping to the entrance.
Note our Venice Cane Metal Bar Stools above, a perfect touch to the island vibe. These stools are a work of art, adding character to any interior commercial space. Shown here with a solid wood seat, they are also offered with a padded vinyl or fabric seat to fit individual design styles. With a commercial-quality metal frame, these stools come with a limited lifetime warranty. Wood back finishes are available in black or natural.
